My fave contouring products

Hello beauty lovers,

I decided to tell you about my fave contouring products because I LOVE contouring. I have been doing this for about 8 years and I will keep on doing this. So I thought let me write something about the products that I have been using lately and that I love for contouring. I’ll also tell you where I bought these products and how much they cost. If you have any suggestions or recommendations please leave a comment below :).

Let me start with my two favorites when I want to go all the way with my contouring. The Laura Mercier Flawless Contouring Palette (this is a cream based palette) and the Kat Von D Shade&Light contour palette (this is a powder based palette). With my skintone most products often come out very orange or too yellow on my face and as much I love make-up I prefer to not look like an oompa loompa or a banana (I bet you feel the same right?:)). But with these two products I don’t have that problem so you can imagine this makes me very happy and pleased. The Laura Mercier palette has three contour colors and two highlight colors. I use the number one contour color, the lightest one, the most. But when I take the time (when I have the time) I just mix and combine the colors to get the perfect look. The highlight colors are a nice base for powder highlighting. I don’t use the darker highlight color that often and when I do I actually use it as a bronzing glow under my bronzer ( I hope this makes any sense I will make a look to explain if you like comment below if yes!!). The lighter color gets more used obviously because that one is perfect for under my powder highlight on my cheeckbones. Another reason I love this palette so much is that it blends sooooo well. Just blend it with your fave brush or your beautyblender (I prefer a beautyblender) and it looks like magic on your face! Noe lets talk about the Kat Von D Shade&Light palette. This again is a WAUW! Kat thank you like Laura for making a palette that doesn’t make me look like an oompa loompa or a banana, I’m extremely happy about this!! When I use my Laura Mercier palette I always always always set it with the Kat Von D palette. This palette has three contour colors and three highlight colors. I use the two lightest contour colors to set my contour and the yellow highlight color to set my under eye highlight. There is also an orange toned highlight color, I use that color to make my contour as sharp as possible by blending any fallout of my contour out with it and it works perfect for me! I purchased these palette’s on the American Sephora webshop. The Laura Mercier palette is 50 dollars and the Kat Von D palette is 46 dollars. For my Dutch readers keep in mind that Sephora does charge you an additional 21% tax fee so you won’t have to pay any duties when it gets shipped to the Netherlands. Sephora ships to the Netherlands for 10 euro.

The next two products I want to tell you about are the Benefit Hoola bronzer ( this is a matte bronzer) and the Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil light/medium matte bronzer. Normally I don’t like using bronzers as a contour but these two are matte so they are also perfect for contouring. The Benefit Hoola bronzer is a bronzer and contour product in one. The Hoola bronzer is so perfect and a little goes a looong way. When I want to look perfect but don’t want to take long to get ready I always use the Hoola bronzer it’s so perfect that it doesn’t need a cream based contour to look gorgeous because it’s already gorgeous on it’s own (Yes I do have moments that I’ll use a cream based contour under it;)). When I use the Hoola bronzer I bronze the ‘3-zone’ on both my face sides and then go extra under my cheeckbones. You make the ‘3-zone’ by going from you forehead to under your cheeekbones and then your jawline. The Hoola bronzer is 33 euro and I got it from Douglas just here in the Netherlands. Lets move on to the Too Faced bronzer. I ordered this bronzer on the French Sephora webshop and when it arrived I was like what the hell did I order and didn’t like it so it just went in to my drawer and didn’t come out for a few months. Some months later a friend showed me a youtube video of a girl with the same skintone as mine using that bronzer as a contour. Unfortunately I don’t remember who the youtuber is. But I was so impressed, because the bronzer looked so nice and natural on her face, that I raced home to try it out on my own since I already owned the bronzer. Let me tell you this I LOVE IT! It’s looks so nice and natural on my face, now I can contour any time of the day without thinking is it too much? I highly recommend this Too Faced bronzer for light/medium skintoned girls who are looking for a natural looking contour product. As I already told yo I got this bronzer from the French Sephora webshop and it is 28,50 euro. The French Sephora webshop often has discount codes just subscribe to their newsletter. Their shipping is 13.95 euro to the Netherlands but with a nice discount code that won’t a big problem.

Let me know what your fave contouring products are in the comments!!

Sephora trip

Hello Beauty lovers,

As a beauty lover living in the Netherlands and having the bad luck that there is no Sephora store in our little rainy country anymore since they closed three years ago :(. I’ve discovered that not so far away (a two hours drive) from my hometown there is a Sephora store in Lille, France (they even have two Sephora stores). You can imagine that this information made me, as a beauty lover and a make-up freak/hoarder very excited. So after finding this out it took me and my friends a while to come up with a date to drive as fast as we could to Lille, France.

(I was so happy I blocked my best friend out of the picture haha I still love you though. Yes I’m the middle one ;))

Arriving in Lille and entering the Sephora store after three years made me feel like a little four year old girl in a candy store. I decided not to spent too much money because not so long ago had a discount and I obviously ordered way too much at that moment. I decided to get the Too Faced Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar. Yes I know I’m late with buying this palette. I already own so many eyeshadow palette’s but seeing this Too Faced palette in real life made me get it anyway because it’s way to gorgeous not to own (so I tell myself duh). Besides this palette I also bought some lip products, two Sephora glitter liners and three Sephora sheet facemask.

This caramel toned palette with some colors that pop out and some darker sexier colors looks amazing in my stash. I can not wait to play with it. The two Too Faced Melted lipsticks I got are in the gorgeous colors Melted Nude and Melted Fig. You can never have too many nudes colors and I kinda have a secret obsession with purple lip colors at the moment so these two are very welcome in my stash too. The Semi-Sweet palette is 44 euro and the Melted lipsticks are 20 euro each.

Unfortunately they didn’t have the entire Nars collection (same with the Too faced and Marc Jacobs, this just means I need to go to Paris :P). But I did manage to get my hands on these two beauties!! These are the Nars Audacious lipstick collection in Anita (on the left) and Raquel (on the right). These were 31,50 euro each. Money well spent because they are absolutely gorgeous on the lips.

I had to own a Marc Jacobs make-up product. I started to think what to get and realised for a normal person with a starters blog I own way too much foundations and bronzers/contouring products so lets get a lipstick (because I don’t have many of those ahum) while swatching the lipsticks the Infamous one caught my eye. Yes another nude, I know I got issues. The Marc Jacobs lipstick was 29,50 euro.

While walking around in the store I spotted these Sephora two-in-one product glitters. It’s an eyeliner and mascara in one. No I will not use this as a mascara I don’t like glitter on my lashes but these are gorgeous as eyeliners and just as a pop of glitter on your eyeshadows. These were on sale and I got them for 3,89 euro each.

Last but not least I got these three sheet facemasks. I’ve been facinated by these for a long time. Specially when I heard that Kylie Jenner loves them. You can hate or love her but her skin does look amazing. The Rose one is an ultra moisturizing & brightening mask, I have very dry skin so I do need all the moisturizing I can get. The Pomegranate one is an anti-fatique & energizing mask, this is perfect for the days when I’ve been partying too much and my skin doesn’t need to look like a granny face after a party. The Lotus one is moisturizing & soothing mask, yes again moisturizing I really do need that. These were 3,95 euro each.

I’m new at this so an tips and recommendations are welcome in the comment box. Let me know if you would like swatches or reviews after I’ve used the products more.
